Special Labor Day holiday schedule

The South Campus (main) Library’s Main Floor 24/7 Access and the North Campus Branch Library will be available to UT Southwestern ID badge holders on Monday, September 5. However, all Library Services – including the Reserve Room as well as access to the South Campus Library’s Middle and Top floors – will be closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Any Reserve Room items needed on Monday must be checked out before the regular closing time (i.e., 5 p.m.) on Sunday, September 4,  and checked in Tuesday morning, September 6.

South Campus Library offers new 24/7 hours

As of August 25, 2011, the South Campus (main) Library’s Main Floor is now open to UT Southwestern ID badge holders 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Library staff will be available for assistance at the Information Desk from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

At all other times, the Library’s front doors will be locked, and a UT Southwestern ID badge must be used at a new badge reader that has been installed at the entrance.  UT Southwestern employees or students who do not have their university-issued ID badge must contact Campus Police at 214-648-8311.

Please note that employees of Parkland Health & Hospital System and Children’s Medical Center are always welcome to use the Library during normal business hours; however, as a safety precaution, this particular after-hours benefit is available only to UT Southwestern employees and students.

The Library’s Main Floor houses the computer commons, which includes student computers; individual and group study rooms; open study space; and a comfortable Wi-Fi Lounge.  During unstaffed hours, the upper two floors of the Library will be closed.  New security measures have been implemented: several cameras are now located throughout the Main Floor, and campus police will regularly patrol the Library.

Find funding and collaborators with COS Pivot

NOTE: COS Pivot is no longer a UT Southwestern Library resource. Go to the Library’s Grants Portal for current grant resources.

COS Funding Opportunities now has an updated look, more features, and a new name—COS Pivot. Pivot lets you search for collaborators both at UT Southwestern and at other universities in addition to searching for funding opportunities. Pivot contains a database of pre-populated researcher profiles with information drawn from institution and departmental web sites, COS Expertise profiles, and publication databases such as PubMed. Each time you search for funding opportunities in Pivot, you can choose to view the list of researcher profiles that match the information in your search. Pivot will also try to automatically match you with funding opportunities based on the information in your own profile.

To access your profile, either log in with your existing COS username and password or create a new account.
