Try Cardiosource Plus for cardiovascular information

Cardiosource Plus is a comprehensive, digital, cardiovascular information and educational resource that integrates research and clinical information from multiple sources. The UT Southwestern Library and the Cardiology Division of Internal Medicine are jointly funding this purchase through June 30, 2009.
Produced by the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF), the resource is designed to help cardiovascular professionals stay up-to-date with relevant research findings, practices, analyses, and commentary by experts. Features include:

  • Clinical trials database, with more than 1,000 clinical trials
  • Image library, including more than 4,500 clinical images
  • Case studies and expert opinions
  • ACCF practice guidelines and quality standards
  • Epocrates Rx Online
  • Cardiovascular Video Network (CVN), with news and expert commentaries
  • American College of Cardiology In-Service (ACCIS) training program for residents and fellows
  • Self-assessment and recertification educational materials for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and ACCF CME/CE credit
  • Full text of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC) and sister journals

To reach Cardiosource Plus on the Library Web site, type “Cardiosource Plus” into the search box. To access most content, users must complete a one-time registration and login from a computer with a campus IP (Internet Protocol) address. You’ll be asked to create a personal user name and password. New users can click on the blue “Sign up now” button at the top right of any Cardiosource Plus page to begin this process.
A considerable amount of content is also available via mobile devices at http://www.cardiosource.com/mobileresources/index.asp.
