Online calculators save time

Online calculators can help you quickly find and use medical formulae to speed your clinical or academic work. The Library Web site offers a variety of calculators, found primarily in three locations:
Within Stat!Ref (locate Stat!Ref via “Quick Links” box on Library Web site):
Stat!Ref includes MedCalc3000, a collection of medical formulae, clinical criteria sets, and decision tree analysis tools for clinicians, educators, nurses and students. From the Stat!Ref home page, click on the “Resources” tab, and then click on the MedCalc3000 icon. MedCalc3000 contains the following sections:

  • Unit & Dose Converter
  • Math Calculator
  • Medical Equations
  • MultiCalcs
  • Clinical Criteria Decision Trees
  • Specialty Pages

Within UpToDate (locate UpToDate via the “Quick Links” box on Library Web site):
At the UpToDate home page, type “calculators” into the search box to retrieve a list of over 80 calculators.
Calculators List:
This is one of the resource lists found on the Library Web site, under Resources by Subject. Links are provided to 18 calculators, such as a body mass index calculator and a Web site offering medical algorithms.
