Science of Synthesis, available on the Library Web site, is a critical digest of synthetic methods in organic and organometallic chemistry. It is based on the book of the same name, the 5th edition of a famous text often referred to as “Houben-Weyl” (the names of the original authors), and it contains:
- Synthesis schemes and methods for molecular transformations
- Experimental procedures for each method
- Access to all volumes of Houben-Weyl Methods of Molecular Transformation, its predecessor title
- Ability to search by structure and keyword
- Browsable hierarchical table of contents
- Other features listed on the site’s welcome page
To access this resource, type “Science of Synthesis” in the search box on the Library Web site. System requirements are explained in a link from the site’s welcome page.
