PsychiatryOnline—from American Psychiatric Press, Inc. (APPI), a subsidiary of the American Psychiatric Association—gives access to a wealth of information:

  • American Psychiatric Association practice guidelines (evidence-based recommendations for the assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders)
  • Textbooks published by APPI, including the Diagnostic & Statistical (DSM) Manuals
  • Journals published by APPI
  • Clinical and research news
  • “Book of the Month”: Access to a free PDF of a different APPI book every month
  • PDA ebook library

Handy features of the site allow you to:

  • Create a free personal account to store images, bookmarks, and searches by using the “My PsychiatryOnline” link (visible only when accessing through the Library Web site) on the home page.
  • Save an image from a PsychiatryOnline book to your personal “My PsychiatryOnline” account by using the “image clipping” function.
  • Use an “images only” search option to find images tagged with your search term.
